GlobalMeet for Outlook Release Notes

There are two versions of GlobalMeet for Outlook: a COM add-in version for Outlook 2010 and newer (called the GlobalMeet toolbar 11.7), and an Outlook add-in (the GlobalMeet Outlook add-in 12.x).

New Features and Enhancements

  • GlobalMeet Outlook add-in. The GlobalMeet Tools menu now includes a link to the Support Site. Previously, it linked to the GlobalMeet Community, a forum that has been collapsed into the new Support Site.

    Due to Outlook caching, you need to uninstall and then reinstall the add-in to see the updated version. After reinstalling the add-in, navigate to Accounts and sign in to your account. For detailed instructions, see Update the GlobalMeet Outlook add-in.

  • GlobalMeet toolbar (Windows only). A new "toolbar-only" installer is available from the Downloads page.
    • It is designed for GlobalMeet 5 meeting hosts who need the 11.7 version of GlobalMeet for Outlook. Previously, these users had to install the full GlobalMeet 4 Desktop Tools to obtain the GlobalMeet toolbar.
    • If you previously installed the GlobalMeet 4 Desktop Tools, you can uninstall them in the Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Remove the apps individually (GlobalMeet for Desktop, Screen Share, VoIP Audio for Meetings, and GlobalMeet toolbar), or choose GlobalMeet Desktop Tools to remove all apps.
    • Go to our Downloads page and scroll to the bottom to get the installer. After installing the toolbar, you will be prompted to sign in when you open Outlook; otherwise, navigate to Accounts and sign in to your account.

    • For IT admins: the GlobalMeet toolbar installer also features a silent mode for managed deployment. For instructions on deploying the GlobalMeet toolbar to your users, see the GlobalMeet Deployment Guide.

Release 12.5 (add-in)

Release date: April 27, 2018

This release updates the Outlook add-in to reflect the new GlobalMeet logo and tool icons.

The updated logo replaces the previous GlobalMeet logo on the Outlook ribbon, new emails, meeting invitations, starting a meeting, and the task panes.

Due to Outlook caching, you need to uninstall and then reinstall the add-in to use the new version. After reinstalling the add-in, navigate to Accounts and sign in to your account. For detailed instructions, see Update the GlobalMeet Outlook add-in.

Release 12.4 (add-in)

Release date: February 16, 2018

This release addresses an issue with Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac 15.40 and newer, where the GlobalMeet task pane displayed a 404 Page Not Found error (listed in version 12.3 release notes as a Known Issue).

The issue should be resolved in the background when you open Outlook 2016 for Mac. There might be a short delay while the GlobalMeet add-in downloads new files.
