Sharing Microsoft Office application results in frozen frame

Windows 10 users sharing a Microsoft Office app window using the desktop app can result in viewers seeing mouse movement while the actual screen is frozen.

When you share an Office application window, screen share displays the initial screen correctly. However, if you navigate within the app, such as switching to a different Excel sheet or PowerPoint slide, the screen remains stuck on the initial screen for your guests.

Workarounds:

  • Share your entire monitor instead of a single application window.
  • Use a compatible browser client instead of the desktop app for screen sharing.
  • Use a Mac or non-Windows 10 PC.
