Background noise in the conference

Hosts only. If background noise is affecting your audio conference, you can mute a single line (Audio Controls only) or all guest lines.

On your phone

If you are on your desk or mobile phone, use the telephone keypad (star) commands.

To mute all guests:

  1. Press *9 and then 6 to mute all. Either press:
    • 1 to let guests unmute themselves (by pressing *6).
    • 2 to restrict unmuting.

    Everyone will hear the prompt: "All guests have been muted."

  2. To unmute everyone, press *9 and then 7.

    Everyone will hear the prompt: “All guests have been unmuted.”

Audio Controls

To mute a single guest:

  1. Watch the active talker indicators. The line causing the noise will be highlighted orange in the participants list.
  2. Point to the guest's name and then click the speaker button.

    The guest will hear this prompt: “You are now muted.”

To mute all guest lines:

  1. On the meeting toolbar, click the Mute All button.

    Everyone will hear the prompt: "All guests have been muted."

  2. To unmute everyone, click the Unmute button on the meeting toolbar.

    Everyone will hear the prompt: “All guests have been unmuted.”
