Join a meeting

To join a meeting, answer the phone when a host calls you, connect to the meeting from the desktop or mobile apps, access a supported web browser and enter your meeting URL, or call using your video room system. If you received an email invitation, click the meeting link to open a web browser and join the meeting. The latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 11 are supported; you cannot attend a meeting in another browser.

Desktop and mobile apps let you join meetings more quickly. Because you are signed in to the app, you do not have to enter your credentials again.

Note: Connect your Outlook Calendar to view your schedule and join meetings with one click. Learn more »

Use the desktop app

The desktop app provides two different options to join a meeting: the Home tab (if you connected your Outlook Calendar) and the Meetings tab.

Use the Home tab

  1. Open the desktop app and click the Home tab, if needed.
  2. Click Join to launch the host's meeting room and automatically sign in. Or, you can join meetings hosted on other meeting services - like Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Webex - from your Outlook calendar by clicking the blue link. The desktop app launches your web browser and navigates to the URL.

From a video room system

If a meeting room is enabled for VRC (Video Room Connector), you can join the meeting from a video conferencing system. GlobalMeet VRC supports most popular conferencing systems, including Cisco/Tandberg, LifeSize, Polycom and more.

You can join using SIP or H.323 protocol (the method depends on the settings of your video room system). Just enter the SIP URI or H.323 address provided by your meeting host.

To join the meeting:

  1. Use the room system’s controls to establish a call.
  2. Enter the SIP URI or H.323 address of the meeting you want to join in this format: PIN@IP-Address (for example, 123456@192.0.2.255).
  3. Press Call
  4. Your system calls the meeting. After GlobalMeet verifies the IP address and PIN, it connects you to the meeting.

Your video room system gets its own video stream in the meeting.
