Meeting audio

GMSO meetings support two types of audio: Skype audio (VoIP) and dial-in. The third Skype audio option – Call me at – is not supported.

When you join a meeting, Skype displays the Join Meeting Audio screen and prompts you to select your audio option. You can:

  • Connect over Skype by using your computer mic and speakers or a headset
  • Dial in to the meeting from a phone of your choice
  • Have the meeting call you

If dialing in or having the meeting dial out to you, select Don’t join audio. The third Skype option – Call me at – is not supported.


Note: If this is your meeting, we recommend you select Use Skype for Business for full meeting control.

Dial in to the meeting

If you are away from your computer or have a slow wi-fi connection, you can dial in to the meeting. Dial one of the phone numbers from the invitation, and when prompted, enter the conference ID followed by the pound (#) key.

Meeting hosts

If you are the host of the meeting and dial in, enter the conference ID followed by your 4-digit host code (PIN), and then press the pound (#) key. This identifies you as the meeting host. Do not use the mobile one-click numbers because you can’t enter your host code.

Mobile participants

On a mobile device? Tap one of the one-click numbers in the invitation. This connects you to the meeting without having to enter the passcode (conference ID).
