iOS updates

Release 6.13

  • The iOS app now requires iOS 12 and newer. Compatible with iPhone 5s and newer. iPhone 6s and newer recommended.
  • The iOS app now supports iPad devices! The iPad version includes all the key features and functionality you need to view, host, and attend meetings right at your fingertips:
    • Connect to your Outlook calendar to view and join upcoming meetings.
    • Host or attend a meeting.
    • View your meeting recordings.
    • Connect to meeting audio via VoIP HD audio, dial-out, or dial-in.

      Note: A connected headset or headphones are recommended; otherwise, the meeting audio plays over the iPad's speaker.

    • View content presented in the meeting, such as videos, files, and screens.
    • The app supports iPad devices running iOS 12 and iPadOS 13 and newer. It is compatible with iPad (5th and 6th gen), iPad mini (2nd - 5th gen; 4th and 5th recommended), iPad Air (all generations; 2nd and 3rd recommended), and iPad Pro.
  • Bug fix. The active talker bar during landscape mode was too large.
  • Known issue. iOS 12 users cannot double tap the screen to zoom in or out on a file being presented in the meeting. The double-tap gesture is supported on iOS 13 on iPhone or iPadOS 13 on iPad. Workaround: If you cannot upgrade your device OS, pinch-to-zoom to zoom in or out.

Android updates

Release 6.14

  • Users connecting to audio receive a notification if the app is unable to connect and prompted to use a different method.
  • Bug fix. The poor network connection notification was overwriting the no audio connected notification if a user failed to connect to audio and also had a dropped network connection. If audio is not connected, the no audio connected notification should take precedence.
  • Bug fix. Guests who were present in the meeting via just audio connection, after being dropped off the web meeting portion, were missing from the guest list.
  • Bug fix. Guests joining a meeting after screen share has been started were seeing either:
    • The active talker version of the screen instead of the share screen.
    • The share version of the screen, but without seeing the screen being shared.

Desktop app updates

Release 6.18

  • Calls tab (Business Phone customers).
    • While on a call, you can accept or reject incoming calls.
    • The Call Settings button (above the Calls list) is now a headset. Previously it was a gear.
  • Bug fix. Outlook integration in the meeting room doesn’t sync correctly between desktop app and browser.
  • Bug fix. Windows 10 users. The Windows menu bar (File, Edit, etc.) was displayed.
  • Bug fix. When guest users click their name at the top of the nav panel, the About link on the menu is unresponsive.
  • Known issue. If you try to start or join a meeting room that uses our earlier Flash-based technology, you receive a blank gray screen instead. Flash-based meeting rooms are still supported on versions 6.17.1 and below. Workaround: Guests - Join the meeting using a web browser. Hosts - Download the previous Mac or Windows desktop app so you can start your meeting.

Meeting room updates

Release 6.15

  • File share. Video files up to 1 GB are now supported.
  • Bug fix. IE11 users could not connect to their Outlook accounts.
  • Bug fix. Presented files become blurry after entering full screen mode.

Desktop app updates

Release 6.17

  • Recordings. You can now rename a meeting recording. Point to the recording, click the More button, and then click Rename recording.
  • Bug fix. Settings > Check for updates was unresponsive when clicked.
  • Bug fix. Calls tab (Business Phone customers). The Recent tab showed an incorrect description when there were no recent calls.

Outlook Add-in updates

Release 13.2

To get the updated version, you have to uninstall and then reinstall the add-in. After reinstalling the add-in, navigate to Accounts and sign in to your account. For detailed instructions, see Update the GlobalMeet Outlook add-in.

  • The add-in now uses the same sign-in process as the meeting room and desktop apps.

    Known issue: On Mac, the previous sign-in panel is displayed. You can still sign in to your GlobalMeet account on the Mac.

  • GlobalMeet Tools > Settings > Meeting Settings. Windows and web versions of the add-in now open Meeting Settings in a separate window. This is the same version that is available from the desktop apps.

    Mac users. Until the sign-in issue is resolved, Meeting Settings is displayed in the Outlook reading pane.

  • Installation instructions in Set up GlobalMeet for Outlook have been simplified and updated. They also address the newer version of Outlook for the web (previously called OWA).

Android updates

Release 6.13

  • Translation improvements.
  • The app performs a network check and notifies you when a poor network connection is detected.
  • Users connecting to audio using VoIP receive a notification if the app is unable to connect to the meeting server.
  • Bug fix. Guests joining a meeting did not see dial-in numbers.
  • Bug fix. Guests joining via dial-out results in a grayed-out Mute button.
  • Bug fix. Poor or weak network connection freezes the app.
  • Bug fix. Users clicking the meeting URL from their calendar without the Android app already open caused the app to crash or did not launch the meeting.
