Meeting updates

Release 6.46

  • Bug fix. Browser users. If you previously joined a meeting in a browser and left that meeting without logging out, sometimes you were asked to sign in again when you joined another meeting.
  • Bug fix. The long version of a meeting URL didn't open the meeting room.

For example, https://web-xx.globalmeet.com/?furl=https://help.globalmeet.com/louisayoung instead of https://help.globalmeet.com/louisayoung.

  • Settings > Integrations. Some users reported issues with connecting their Outlook and Google calendars. When it fails to connect, no error message is displayed. To fix, set your browser to allow cookies and try again.

Android updates

Release 6.37

For VoIP audio connections, we're working to make the meeting experience better when it is being impacted by your network connection.

  • Low bandwidth mode. On a weak connection or worried about data caps? Low bandwidth mode lets you hide webcam streams so that you can preserve bandwidth. On the meeting controls, tap the More button and set Low Bandwidth Mode to On.

On the Meeting tab, other guests' webcams are hidden and a Low Bandwidth Mode message is displayed. If you're sharing your own webcam, it continues to stream to the meeting.

  • Poor network auto-detection – when the app detects poor network conditions, it alerts you and lets you switch to low bandwidth mode. If nobody is sharing webcams, the app suggests that you change your audio connection.

Desktop app updates

Release 7.4

  • Outlook calendar. If you have Outlook installed on your computer, in the Today column, click an agenda item to open the meeting invitation in the Outlook app. Previously, the invitation opened in the browser version of Outlook.
  • Windows. The uninstall process now removes GlobalMeet from the Startup tab in the Task Manager and cleans up any background processes that are still running.
  • Simplified the meeting information screens for customers who have accounts with VoIP audio, but no dial-out and dial-in options.
  • Bug fix. Settings tab > General. If you opened Meeting Settings (clicked the Edit link next to Profile & Meeting Settings) and then closed the Meeting Settings window, the Edit link stopped working and you couldn't open Meeting Settings again.

iOS updates

Release 6.36

  • With this release, the GlobalMeet iOS app now requires iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 and newer. Some devices previously supported on iOS 12 are no longer supported. See System requirements for a complete listing.
  • Bug fix. When you turned your webcam on or off in full-screen mode, the message that indicated your webcam status covered the Mute and Camera meeting controls.
  • Bug fix. When someone shared a whiteboard while you were on the Guests or Chat tab, only the name of the person who shared the whiteboard displayed in the whiteboard sharing message.
  • Bug fix. iPad. When someone shared their screen and then shared a whiteboard while you were on the Meeting tab, the message next to the Maximize button displayed that the meeting was displaying the sharer's screen instead of the whiteboard.
  • Bug fix. When you searched for a meeting and joined it, the "How would you like to join the meeting?" message didn't display on the audio connection screen.

Meeting updates

Release 6.44

  • Bug fix. Intermittent issue where screen share did not start and the Share button would spin.
  • Bug fix. iPad Air. When you tapped a meeting URL, the browser message was incorrect. You were either prompted to open the desktop app (instead of iOS app) or an unsupported device error was displayed.
