Meeting Support

How much bandwidth does iMeet use?

The approximate bandwidth required to run iMeet is as follows:

With one webcam: 35-55kBp per user
With one webcam + a softphone connection: 55-75kBp (kilobytes per second) per user

Through optimization, iMeet can run between 6 and 15 webcams simultaneously on 125kBp of dedicated bandwidth (for webcam only). With all 15 participants sharing their webcams, iMeet bandwidth usage tops out at 450-500kB/s downstream and 100-200kB/s upstream per user for HD video. With the latest version of Adobe Flash installed, the encode webcam video in H.264 format allows for higher compression efficiency and industry-standard support.
